Project Architect

Title: Project Architect

Primary Responsibilities:
 
Architectural Related responsibilities:
  • Direct communication with design team including Architects, Engineers and administrative staff, including team design meetings.
  • Review of architectural and roofing design submittal information.
  • Review design details and specifications to ensure code compliance on the different projects
  • Perform Quality Assurance oversight on drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain production schedules of current and new projects between the Envelope Consultants and the Production Room
  • Maintain the production room and oversee production of the construction documents with each of the production members.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with large consultant teams
  • Mentors junior staff and helps inform feasible solutions to design challenges
 
General Administrative responsibilities:
  • Typing and writing skills are required to compose professional, detailed written reports with photo descriptions, summaries, and footprint drawings; documents must withstand the scrutiny of other industry and legal experts. 
Ancillary Tasks to be performed include:
  • Construction administration service
    • Job site observations
    • Report writing
    • Photo documentation
  • Site inspections that entail condition assessment, and monitoring roof replacement projects as need arises
  • Reviewing pay applications and close-out documents when necessary
  • Providing assistance to the Building Envelope Consultant providing services to a specific client
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Professional Architectural license in Texas.
  • 6 plus years of previous building envelope and waterproofing experience, 3 years of which include managing building envelope projects in Texas and the surrounding states.
  • Strong writing, communication, and team skills.
  • Knowledge of various building enclosure systems, materials, and products.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple project efforts and clients
  • General drafting knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360
  • Proficient with Revit & Autocad
  • Knows full building design
  • Previous experience writing specification documents is required.
  • Would be helpful if you are familiar with steep - and low-sloped roofing systems
