Construction Manager

Our client, a pool builder in Paris, TX, is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join their leadership team. This company has been in business for 24 years and is the most experienced pool builder in the area. They have cultivated a great customer base through quality work and honesty.

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction of swimming pools by working directly with the pool designer, company employees, homeowner and sub-contractors. The Construction Manager must ensure the project is started and completed in a timely manner. Quality checks, completing job site checklists and communication are a crucial part of this position. The Construction Supervisor is responsible for all onsite aspects/field issues of the job, construction machinery and vehicles, materials, and inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand the entire scope of the project (layout, elevations, etc.)
  • Master all aspects of construction techniques required to build all company projects
  • Ordering, Organizing and staging of materials and subcontractors
  • Maintain construction schedules
  • Communicate job progress and issues with homeowners and designers
  • Attend pre-construction walk throughs with homeowners and designers to include spraying out pool, setting elevation and completing pre-construction checklists with the homeowner
  • Complete Quality checks on forms, digs and rebar and complete a rebar checklist
  • On site as needed for shoots completing appropriate checklist
  • Ensure quality workmanship by our employees and subcontractors
  • Go over system install with plumber to ensure plumbing is per diagram and the valves are pinned properly, plumbing is level and clean and is up to company standards
  • Walk project with Mason before project begins and complete a checklist to ensure quality after tile and coping completion
  • Meet the electrician on site to go over plans for wiring
  • Walk project with deck crew to outline decking and confirm materials, pattern, and base materials are correct.
  • Responsible for all company/construction vehicles and equipment
  • Responsible for all construction inventory and supplies
  • Ensure sites are clean throughout the entire process
  • Perform final walk through with designer and homeowner
  • Lead by example
  • Regularly create internal billing reports for each project
  • Coordinate with Sales, Accounting, Procurement and Field personnel as needed
Qualifications:
  • Must have strong organizational skills to manage large amount of detail
  • Must have the ability to plan out tasks proactively
  • Must have good communication skills with all levels of the organisation
  • Strong understand the construction process
  • Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Ability to use basic office equipment – phone, computer, copier
  • Able to operate skid steers, mini excavators, excavators, load and unload equipment, knowledge of proper booming techniques and other heavy equipment skills/experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid Drivers’ License is required
  • CDL preferred
