Position Overview
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for owning projects from sales handoff through final customer closeout. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between sales, operations, field teams, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to company quality standards. The PM is accountable for project execution, scheduling coordination, material readiness, documentation accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
Project Ownership & Execution
- Manage assigned projects from kickoff through completion and billing handoff
- Ensure scope of work is clearly understood and executed by field teams
- Track project progress, identify risks, and resolve issues before they impact timelines or quality
- Maintain accountability for job performance and outcomes
Scheduling & Coordination
- Coordinate project schedules with operations leadership
- Communicate timeline updates and changes to customers as needed
Team & Field Support
- Provide field teams with clear direction, expectations, and job requirements
- Support team leads with documentation, change order tracking, and time reporting needs
- Maintain responsibility for job-related logistics including equipment needs and site access
Materials & Logistics
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure materials are staged and ready for deployment
- Track project material requirements and identify shortages or delays early
Change Orders & Scope Management
- Manage customer change requests and scope adjustments
- Document and coordinate all change orders with sales and operations teams
- Ensure accurate tracking of labor and materials related to scope changes
Customer Communication & Closeout
- Maintain professional communication with customers throughout project lifecycle
- Perform final project closeout with customers to confirm satisfaction
- Ensure all closeout documentation is completed prior to job completion approval
Vehicle & Asset Responsibility
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned company vehicle
- Coordinate routine maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accountability for any customer-provided access items (keys, badges, etc.)
Expectations & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in low-voltage, security systems, or structured cabling environments
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Clear and professional communication abilities
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and leadership mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced field operations environment
Travel & Work Requirements
- Travel is required based on project needs
- Overnight travel may be required occasionally
- Weekend work is rare and typically only required for special projects or customer scheduling needs
